These new cassette decks cannot compete with cassete decks brands of bygone era, i.e. likes of Nakamichi, Sony, Technics, JVC, pioneer, Aiwa, Revox or Tandberg. You will be better of with deck of any of these brands, even in used condition.

Hi, Thanks for your reply, but the question is from where will I find the ones you mentioned and who's gonna let go off them with meager price?

Certainly you cannot get them cheaply but the brands which are available new are not cheap either. For comparable prices you can get used decks of good brands. Several old equipment sellers have their YouTube channels.

If you are in Mumbai, check OLX and Facebook listings. I would suggest purchasing a technics Sony Akai Kenwood Sansui etc. deck for between 5000 to 10000 rupees and factor in another 5000 rupees for repairs. Do not buy the deck without seeing it in person because there are many online scams. If you regularly scan the classifieds for a couple of months you will definitely find a cassette deck. I would avoid buying a new cassette deck from Amazon because they are really very bad

Hi,

I have a friend who is not using this Double Casette Deck. Its 15 years old. It may need servicing including possible belt changes inside. Never repaired. Was purchased from Kuwait and single user until CDs were used widely.

If you are interested can ask him if he wants to sell and how much he is expecting.

One must be totally crazy to spend 2.25 lakh on a cassette deck in any condition (even NoS) from any seller. Yes some are obsessed by the NAK brand and are ready to pay large sums, especially for the 1000ZXL and Dragon, but for the rest, its just not worth.

My 2-cents, if you have a professionally recorded tape library, especially on metal tapes for example, then splurge on a higher end machine. If you have regular type-1s, imported pirated tapes, Bollywood pre-recorded tapes, or other releases by Indian manufacturers (both western and desi) then even something as simple as a basic cassette deck with Dolby or Dolby B, would be sufficient. Playing them on an advanced machine is not going to make these sound better, unfortunately.

If you stay patient and look carefully, there are a lot of decks out there that can give you great performance at a significantly lower price.

This is trying to cash in on past glory which does not make any sense especially when the condition of the tape deck is unknown. There are plenty of options to good sound today at a much lesser budget.
Fm Rebeunsm has put things in the right perspective.
