I have been trying to digitize all my family video recordings for last 15+ years to pc from collection of miniDV tapes. My Sony Handycam still runs smooth and with pcmcia express firewire and adobe elements am able to capture videos raw (avi). However handycam head seems to giveup inbetween and i think few seconds of run down with head cleaner tape would solve the problem. The one I have is used a bit and needs 3-4 rounds of playback (something not recommended) before head is back working for sometime. So if anyone by chance still have usable headcleaner miniDV TAPE please let me know.
