Is it worth to pick up the WD live player? Am still fluctuating between buying a media player vs using my laptop as a media player( with XMBC). Have no issues except the boot up time lag. That said dunno how is it better to have a dedicated media player too!

If boot time lag is your only trouble, consider getting an SSD hard disk for your laptop.
