Hi Guyz,

This is my first post out here and this happens to be the first speakers that i'm planning to buy (need you expert advice to guide me through this.)

i have a decent knowledge of speaker and have a liking to the mids and lows. After a harrowing search across the city with a tight budget of 60K.

My room size is 11 x 13. I already own a 32 inch sony bravia. Purpose is goona be tons of music and 30% of movie watching.

I started my research with run of the mill sonys (pathetic) to the unafforable MBL's. What i have zero'd in on is either klipsh RF-10 with center ,2bookshelves and a 8 inch sub with denon 1909- goes way beyond my budget - 1,13500

Adding to the confusion the dealer had a year and a half old jamo D8 series front with 3 way bass reflex, D8 center and 2 way book shelves - for 65k plus my denon amp . This interested me as the speakers performed better than klipsch and others like pardigm, modershot which i did not like. Flip side is the bass was very channelisd and defenietly requires a sub woofer. i s this a good buy ?

Please advice wether my filteration is on the correct lines, do you guys know of any cheaper delears ?

hi hari
good that you've done some research before asking questions. firstly is your budget for 60k just for speakers or for the full set up. also if youre main aim for listening is music, then dont go for the sub / centre etc etc. just a pure 2 channel setup will have much better SQ than going the multi speaker route.

depending on your budget, i would suggest

speakers
monitor audio bronze or silver series
kef iq series (comparing to the bronze series)

when auditioning speakers, dont worry about whether they're floorstanders or bookshelves. choose depending on what sounds better to you. if you like your lows take cd's along which will showcase what the speaker can do when its pushed deep down.

amp
either the nad / cambridge / marantz as an amp, in no particular order - they're pretty much in the same bracket - just that each of them have their own characteristics and its about suiting your personal preferences. the amps im suggesting are stereo amplifiers

an entry level cdp - again nad / cambridge / marantz
