What is your favorite HDMI cable brand?

I am using Belkin 1.4 HDMI cable. but I have used cheapest cable as well previously.
Now I see that i have unnecessarily wasted some bucks on buying these branded cables.

Seriously, there is no difference at all in the quality between a Rs. 100 HDMI cable and a Rs. 800 HDMI cable; everything else is a marketing gimmick...Period !!

mines a 2-4 $ HDMI cable.. and its as good as a Belkin Cable @ my friend's place... (Practical experience).. Though the connecting mold or pin might be better .. unless you plan to run around using your HDMI as a whip I dont see the reason to invest more :D

Cheapest & flexible HDMI cable available in market.

Once I bought an HDMI cable from a computer store with HARD casing, as it was hard casing found difficult to fit behind the space between wall and TV HDMI-in.

Liberty Grandview provides excellent HDMI cables

Don't buy cheap Chinese brands-- the problem with them is the connections are loose and I've had several connectors break off when I pushed the equipment back in the cabinet

I have a couple of Mediabridge HDMI for $9.99 (each) from Amazon. Works fine.
Didn't find difference between the one supplied with Tata Sky HD and the above.

In my experience, for shorter lengths I haven't found any difference in branded vs. non-branded ones. For longer lengths cheap Chinese cables are problematic.

I am also considering buying a long cable for my PJ. Since I am seeing artifacts/noise in the cheaper one that I had bought from ebay. How are MX for distances > 10 m distance. Anyone?

Quality of HDMI cable does make a difference as long as you are watching high definition video, like for example a blu-ray disc through a good player like Oppo on a high-definition screen. It does practically nothing otherwise.
Preferred cables are those with silver plated copper center conductor which transmits the video signal. What comes into play here is the loop resistance at baseband video frequencies, especially in HD transmission. An example, solid copper conductor is preferred in CCTV transmission where distances are long and other materials like copper-plated steel create this problem. The advantage of silver plating is that the transmission of data is better as HD frequencies are supposed to travel closer to the surface. At the same time, the quality of copper is equally important. However, silver in audio side conductors has to be considered with caution as it easily induces listening fatigue.
Any HDMI cable with around 4% silver, 6 will be even better, will certainly outperform the others in terms of picture clarity, speed, black level etc. Of course, your system should be capable of differentiating them.
You don't have to spend a fortune to get such good cables. I believe Pangea cables (audioadvisor.com) have a good reputation.
I own a Wireworld Silver Starlight 5^2 HDMI cable and use it for only video transmission between a Oppo blu-ray player and Pioneer Kuro plasma. It makes a big difference compared to the stock cable.
I do own silver interconnects, Audioquest Sky and Cheetah in my audio system (CDP - preamp - power amp). But they are special and clean and fast with no tendency for listening fatigue. It all depends.
Lastly, the Wireworld is the best value for the money as they have some of the best HDMI connectors. Several cables have issues with the connectors and often affect the performance.

Just my 2 cents, please, and no controversy intended.

cheers.

I must say I also belived that all are same till i fianlly took a plunge and changed to audioquest cinnamon and i could not belive what a diffrence it brought to the projector dispaly. Its been just 4 months that my HT is in full functioning and have already changed 3 cables, before i decided that enough is enough.

I would highly recommend to spend some money on the good quality HDMI cable as it is worth every penny spent on it.
