Hi all,

I've been a very passive member of this forum for quite some time. I've started looking into it from the time I thought of setting up a new HT for my home.

Recently, with some spare time, I started looking into setting up my first HT. I saw numerous great suggestions by the members. Now, I cannot think of buying my HT without taking your opinion.

Currently, my requirements are AVR + 5.1 Speakers + DVD Player. I plan to buy a media player and a game console soon. I own Samsung 40" 6-series full HD TV.

As you can see from my title, I've set aside 1.5L for the whole system.

My usage will be for 60% movies + 40% music.

After going through several reviews, I've shortlisted Denon 3310 + KEF 3005SE or B&W MT series + Pioneer DV-610.

I wanted to go for iQ series as suggested by many in this forum. But, due to space constraints, I would prefer satellite speakers.

My main dilemma is:

Will Denon 3310 be an over-kill for the selected speakers? Will 1910 or a 2310 suffice my requirements?

Please suggest alternates for any of my short-lists.

Thanks in advance for your suggestions.

1910/2310 should be good enough to drive the satellite packages unless you want some extra feature/connections/zones etc.

One more good satellite package in the same budget would be the Quad L-ite package.

Thank you for your suggestion.

As mentioned earlier, I am quite a novice in this area. May I know where I can audition Quad speakers in Bangalore?

The most important factor is the room size. For up to 400/500 square feet, the 1910/2310 are ample enough. Take an audition of the Q- Acoustics speakers also. They are quite good for HT requirements.

Cheers
