connected to my pc which is connected to the AVR via HDMI to DVI cable..but no audio is coming

As there is no reason to convert from HDMI to DVI, i read it like DVI-> HDMI converter.
DVIs does not carry sound. So even if you convert it to HDMI you can not get sound.

Quick solution might be using the stereo out from the computer and pass it through the AVR.

But to get 5.1 from the PC either upgrade the graphics card to a one which has HDMI out. Otherwise need to get a sound card supporting optical/co-axial outputs.

I Hav setup my Home theatre, connected my ps3 and my tatsky+ hd to the AVR.
But the problem is with all my movies stored in my external HDD in MKV formats connected to my pc which is connected to the AVR via HDMI to DVI cable..but no audio is coming as bcos Hdmi to DVi does not support audio i guess...
so what is the soln to my problem???
pls help
