Whats the use of verify disc option ion most dvd/cd burning softwares? What happens when an error is found? Is this necessary to perform this process?

Whats the use of verify disc option ion most dvd/cd burning softwares? What happens when an error is found? Is this necessary to perform this process?

it reads the data from the disc after burning and compares to the original. if there are errors found, it means you've got a bad copy and a cd as a coaster
Its not a must, but I always do it.
