Wireless active speakers seem very convenient - no amp, no wires etc.

Even 'audiophile' speaker companies like Dynaudio, Kef, Focal etc have them in the product line now.

But in terms of SQ how do they compare with traditional setups - amp, passive speakers etc?

Appreciate the insights.

I would prefer to stay away.

Electronics / interface protocols / CODECs keep changing.

Can use good passive speakers for 10 - 20 years.

Wireless active - today it works with Bluetooth 5.0, what happens when 6.0 launches ?
Today it supports Spotify Connect. Tomorrow Spotify Connect HD launches and doesnt work with your wireless speaker - what do you do ?

Just my view.

But yes - convenient, and probably carry a high WAF (wife acceptance factor).
