hi,

all i found is Tata sky is good since I bought it few months back.

Only thing i found missing is HD music channel in its bundle, when can we expect one ??

what do we mean by HD music buddy ??

5.1 or more bitrate ?

if its bout bitrate then its been there since ages.. ?

why wud be want to turn on TV to listen to HD music.. we always had it since ages.. get those uncompressed audio files or flac's and we are good.. 5.1 music dosen't makes sense..
music is as good as stereo

Totally agree with you ironhorse, but i think u misunderstood something here...

I love watching music videos in HD (Picture +AUdio)

recently seen Mtunes in local cable at Pune and was thinking about having same at my TS.

What i usually do is download such videos from net and play via HDD on my setup, else cut videos from full length movies and add them to my collection of video songs (almost 40GB)..

If there exists a channel on TS, u know my efforts will be considerably reduced... :licklips:

So after 2 years what's the HD Channel count in DTH? some one in our forum was asking abt 3d channels which seems like light years away.

I don't know why I keep hearing this old argument, which has no basis whatsoever in any rational thought process. By your logic, we should go back to mono sound, why even stereo? Just because we have two ears?

I don't want to rehash all the arguments in favour of 5.1 (or more) channels but will quickly emphasize that sound in a concert, session, or jam always comes to your ears from all directions, not just from the front. Two mics in a frontal soundstage do not capture all information. They cannot, unless we change the physics of the world we live in. And most recording engineers agree that a third (centre) channel anchors the soundstage in a way that stereo never can.

Luckily, most good recording companies do not think in the old "stereo-only" way, which is why they are releasing a lot of material, both classical and new, in surround format.

Here is an excellent example of *free* 5.1 flac downloads from famous western composers, from a well-known recording company that makes beautiful presses, both CD and SACD:
