Which AV Receiver from US ?

I have someone coming down from US, was thinking of ordering an AV receiver. I have shortlisted:

1. Denon 2311
2. Denon 2112 (new series)
3. Onkyo 709
4. Marantz 7005

All are around 550-650

I may look at pairing the PSB Image B6 or T6 (but not decided) have to audition others yet. Which receiver should I get ? Also any other combinations I should look at ?

Hi Teja,

First you decide on speakers. If you decide on speakers, You will come to know what kind of behavior that speaker is having. warm, bright or neutral. Based on that you need to take corresponding receiver.

For Ex: Onkyo is a bright receiver and polk speakers also bright. If you match both of them, You will get more harshness in your HT. All the best

Hi Tejas - I am also interested in getting one. Where are you getting sr7005 marantz for that price? Are you getting any option of 220V?

Nopes i will get the 120V since its from US...Main use is 70% movies and games and 30% music...

All of the above are top notch. You could not go wrong with either - or maybe just take the Denon 2311 out of the equation.

But buying speakers first is an excellent idea because then you will know the best AVR that suits the speakers. For instance, due to the price advantage you may be inclined to buy a powerful AVR but then bury yourself in a hole when trying to match the equivalent speakers.

You have not mentioned room size.

For speakers I am looking at PSB Image B6 to start with, room size is around 14ft by 16ft
