I am looking to replace my 10 years old receiver whose HDMI video does not function. Using with an AV splitter past 2 years.
Usage is both movies and music (60-40).

  • Which receivers are recommended for my speakers?
  • What are the prices like..?
  • Where in bangalore can I audition? I'm in north Bangalore.

My setup consists of the following,
Marantz SR7005 receiver
PSB Image T6 towers
C5 Center
B6 surrounds

Crown XLS 1500 power amp for the front speakers via pre outs
Crown XLS 2500 for 2 subs

Thanks in advance

Hi,
Denon from 3000 series will have preout to connect all channels to power amplifier , Marantz NR series have front preout and all others models has preouts .

Depends on your budget you can select the one .

Regarding audition our Fm will guide you

Hello,
Beautiful set of speakers you have there.
Considering 60-40 movies bias, and the fact that you have lived with a Marantz for 10 years, I's suggest you stick to a current gen 2023/24 Marantz.

Just think over whether you are happy with a surround set-up and if you want to upgrade to an object-based set up. That will give you the best Marantz model.

All the best.

PS: Props for keeping an AVR alive for 10 years!

I made it a point to leave the receiver open, such that it has ventilation from all sides. Used an DIY table/stand for the Receiver + Amps + Center speaker. By running an external amp for fronts, my amp barely became hot. Warm at best. Before I added the amp it used to run hot. I suspect this is one of the reasons. Plus some luck in terms of what comes from the power lines.

For excellent sound that won't break the bank, the 5 Star Award Winning Wharfedale Diamond 12.1 Bookshelf Speakers is the one to consider!
