Which Tablet to buy. iPad?

The question can be answered with another question.

Is a laptop better than a desktop? For the same money you can buy a more powerful desktop capable of doing almost anything and have the upgradability options however it can't replace the laptop. The latter is potable however does get heavy on your shoulders, even the ultraportables are not as easily manageable as tablets, again tablets can't replace smartphones as you cant carry them in a shirt pocket. So every gadget has its own place but since I have the iPads I hardly use my android phone for reading books or watching videos and feel the diary like dimension of 9.8 inches are perfect for a handheld. The retina display is awesome, even better than my led tv.

Available at Alfa, Andheri (Irla).

Price varies as $ rate fluctuates, i got my 8GB for approx 14K.

My vote is always for Nexus 7. The cheap and best tablet in market. I got my Nexus 7 two weeks back. I am extremely happy with its performance.

Regarding space, I rooted my device and plugged a 16GB pendrive with OTG cable. Now I got 32GB on my Nexus. :clapping:

I felt it's touch is as smooth as the IPads (I compared both at a electronics store)

I haven't seen the quad core samsung galaxy tab 2 or xperia tablet. So can't comment on that.

I found it's audio quality is amazing. Bought RHA earplugs and it sounds amazing. Video quality is awesome. It has become my personal portable movie theatre now.. :)

The most important thing is its size. I can operate it holding in one hand only. And it slips easily into my jacket pocket.

Finally, nothing can beat the performance of a quad core processor.

Apple platform is anytime better than android . I m using ipad3 16 gb 4g & wifi and htc smart phone . Apple apps r much better than android ones . Take for instance the iMuscle Nova app on iPad there is none such equally good app on android . Just go for apple 100% satisfaction guaranteed.

Try in croma for EMI options.
They have some stupid EMI Options. It's actually 12 months EMI but we need to pay 2 months EMI in advance. Will check about Bajaj Fin and Tata Finance but these seems to be having huge processing rates.
I think ezone offers this EMI facility for ipads, check it out...
Thanks bro. Will check this out.
Currently looks like I have only Sulekha available at least price.(EMI wise)

Reliance Digital is giving emi of 3/6 months with ICICI/Citi and 6/9 months with HDFC credit cards. They claim no interest no processing fee.

a bit OTT .... I will be getting my Nexus 7 in a couple of days. Any pointers to the tutorial you followed for rooting ...... also ...apart from that storage what else do you see went in to the favour of rooting your device .....

One more input from my side. My brother bought a Asus Transformer Prime. Its a 10 inch tab and he feels that it is better to be considered as laptop (he got the dock as well) as the size and weight is on the higher side.
IMO, tablet should be something with which you can roam around. Smaller in size and lighter in weight.

Finally my brother asked me to bring a Nexus 7 for him as well....

Either get a 7 inch tab (obviously with True HD screen). Otherwise, if you are apple freak, wait for iPad mini.

@sam9s... please consider the following article as a handbook:

How to root your Google Nexus 7 | Reviews | CNET UK

Also search in youtube. There is an excellent video tutorial which demonstrates step-by-step process. Its excellent. (sorry I don't have the link right now).

There is one step in the cnet article which is not clear. At one step you have to wait for a little while just to see the next screen appear. Its not very much evident in this article. Consider the youtube review. It'll make you through.

BTW... if you've asked someone to bring it for you from USA or UK, ask him/her to download some softwares of $25 or 15 worth google credit (whatever you get depending on country). Because I heard, in India we won't be able to use that credit.

To be very frank, apart from storate, I haven't tried anything else yet. I'd try my usb headphone with it and let you know whether it works or not.

All the best for your NEXUS!
