Ran today audyssey but before that i set crossover at 80hz and after that i ran TWISTER 4K opening scene later i saw speaker crossover was full range. This movie scene could have blown my speakers, NO? Who would have been responsible?

If it detects the speakers are capable as Full Range, it will set them as Full Range. You can change it if you think it has made the wrong selection (Are you speakers not full range?). Nothing is going to happen when you have the cross over set to 80hz. You are responsible for your own speakers. So don't play them too loud, try to blow your speakers and find an excuse for the manufacturer to be responsible.

Denon has always had this bug.
Need to manually change speakers to "Small", even if they are large floor standers.
Else you will blow your speakers.

That is a full range capable loudspeaker. Why would you tag the speaker as "Small"? Just because its a stand mount speaker does not make it fall under the category of "Small". All you need to do is correct how much Bass is sent there.

There is no option to set size. We can just set crossover in denon

Sounds like a restriction due to the Auto Setup. I can certainly adjust speaker size on my Denon 3312, which is a REALLY old receiver
It could be due to Sub Woofer mode set as LFE. If you switch that to LFE+Mains, you can certainly make the speaker size option as "Large"

No, in higher models they have removed option of small large

The earlier setting of Large and Small was causing a lot of confusion to people new to HT. But people with small bookshelfs were wondering why their speaker was set to large. Large / small setting was to only tell your receiver if you want your bass managed or not. Bass management requires a subwoofer which is why this option is not available without a sub.

The current updates to newer receivers makes this clearer wherein they are asking for crossover settings. So no confusion with big or small speakers.

As a personal preference, my small bookshelf speakers are set to 'Small' for HT and full range for stereo in pure direct with sub.

you still need to set lfe+mains i guess even if you set to full range

Large vs small decides where subwoofer will takeover input. If set to small subwoofer will takeover. If set to large, it won't
Crossover is the point at which it will takeover.
Both these settings are available in higher end models atleast even now, such as x6700 and x8500.

i fully checked each and every setting under audio and speakers, there is no option now. My firmware was updated 4 times after i bought it. X4800h

If you've set it to Large and you have LEF+Mains enabled, the sub woofer feed is very much active.
The nice thing about the LFE+Mains is that if you have a mains loudspeaker capable of producing reasonable lower frequencies, it allows for a much smoother transition or blend with the sub woofer. You don't cut the bass off entirely (From the mains) just because you have a sub woofer. Doing so will result in a bit of hollowness when it comes to bass, as all bass it being handled by the sub woofer.

In my case, the mains are capable of playing down to 50hz. So I've set the cross over at 60hz. It sounds almost seamless to the point where I sometimes can't tell if the sub woofer is active.

There is no hard and fast rule for these settings. That said, it does help to pay attention to the capabilities of your Main speakers, before you rip them off their bass reproduction capabilities.
