I had read this. There are couple of other articles on Bhatia in Scroll archives. He was quite unique and the music suited the art movies.

In current generation I find Rajat Dholakia somewhat similar.

Rajat Dholakia (Jukuji) is a very talented senior music director and a down to earth person.

His composition for Ramanyan Shri Ram Katha (Japanese Anime) are out of this world.

Also his lesser known work "Surkhiyaan" was extraordinary.

If I remember correctly, he also composed the scores for famous Doordarshan serials like 'Bharat Ek Khoj' , 'Wagle Ki Dunya' and Tamas.
