This is a completely different cable. Even if we ignore Analogue vs Digital aspect, this cable carries only one channel of audio.
HDMI on the other hand carries,
1. 8 channels of audio
2. 2 channels of video (3 D)
3. Control
This is several "Orders of magnitude" more difficult.
OTOH, a 500 Rs HDMI cable (6 feet) would still do the job

I'm not very good at electrical technical terms, but I wonder what he marinates his inductance in?
Anyway, good for him for DIYing his own cables, and very neatly too, it looks nice. There are plaits for any number of components. investigate plaits or sinnets, if not on the net, then in a really good book about old-fashioned knots and rope work for sailors.
However... in cat5 cable (and probably later specifications too) there is a prescribed pitch and pattern to the twist. I learnt this from a cabling engineer, who was explaining to me that that was why he was carefully keeping that pattern in place right up to the very termination in the patch panel. It wasn't just for looks, it was for specification too: it would not have been cat 5 cabling if he hadn't!
NetFreak probably knows if this applies to other digital cables.

my point was not to point out towards analogue or digital cable
i am just trying to tell thats its not just the HDMI cable hoax... its more than that
its everywhere.. there are audio cable for even 40,000$ for 12foot of a cable..
its everywhere.. audio cable,video cables, lcd,plasma.. infact every where..
they introduce fancy terms as their selling points.. without even knowing the facts that there wont be any diffrence.

Read a bit about HDMI on the net. 10 Gbps. is for future expansion. My guess is in future when 10gbps data transmission will be required it will definitely make a difference. Till then as NetFreak has said costly cables will not be necessary unless long cables are required.

Not good buying expensive HDMI cables but it is silly to buy super cheap ones as well.
