will be going in for the new Rethm Saadhanas Version 3

Oh! I guess a lot of reading on Esoteric is in order for me. Never really followed it that much.

Do you have an opinion on Esoteric D-07? They say it's a dual mono DAC with M2Tech Hiface interface. Sounds intimidating to me (the dual mono part). However, as always, its performance first for me. I try not to get influenced by specs and tech-speak. So, any opinion on it's performance would be very helpful to me.

I should mention that I am an entirely digital guy and don't have any plan for a serious transport as of now. As always I would tweak on of my computers and push it in to being a transport.

Look at a Metrum Hex dac. You will be playing pretty much at the top level. Its the one i would go for in the present day. I have not heard the D07 but i think its entry level. For that price i would look at Metrum Hex. Alternatively you can look at Antelope Audio. The Metrum would be a more beefier sound whereas the Antelope would be a lighter, more enveloping sound.

Hi Ranjeetrain

If you are planning to spend big money, then i would suggest the Prism Audio DA 2. Its the best i have heard. Most musical and everything sounds very right. I have pretty much heard most dacs out there, from the top of the line Esoteric to Wadia to DCS to Weiss.

Hi Prem, that's the kind of opinion I am after. I did send an enquiry to Prism Audio sales team through their site. They haven't got back to me on the price yet. Prism DA-2 is my last bet. If I can't afford that, I might settle for Lyra-2.

Antelope was always on my mind. Read good things about them. Would also be interesting. I will try to find any dealer where I can audition it.

I would look at Metrum Hex. I suppose it isn't available in India? How much does it go for? I guess it's time for me to start looking at AudioGon once a day at least.

The Hex is very new. I think introduced a couple of months back. It costs around 2200 Euros. Prism Audio has an agent in India so unlikely they will sell directly to you. I think the DA 2 costs around 5000 pounds. For USB use, they actually recommend the Orpheus which is much cheaper

A beautiful, well-constructed speaker with class-leading soundstage, imaging and bass that is fast, deep, and precise.
