i am having a Samsung LED TV (40D5000) with Digital Optical Out . And i want to connect a wireless headphone to this port . I have checked out Clear Sound IR2012 , Sony MDR-DS3000 ,Sennheiser RS 220 all of which are having a digital input in their transmitter ,which would have allowed me to connect it directly to the TV . But all of these go well beyond my budget .

So i just wanted to know if the following method will work . i am planning to use a FiiO D03K Coaxial/Optical to R/L Audio converter and then use a wireless headphone transmitter with only RCA or 3.5mm INPUT port (which is way cheaper ) . I have checked out some models like Philips SHC2000, Philips SHC1300 ,Koss HB 79 . Please share your opinion and also suggest any other models of both DAC and headphones if you think will be superior .

TV do not have headphone out? what about audio out? ( 2 RCA?)

RF -radio frequency headphones are better than IR -IMHO

TV does not have a RCA out . It has a headphone out but if i connect to that then my internal TV speaker will stop giving sound , that means every time i want to hear via wireless i have to plug in/plug out the chord . So if i take it out via digital out even if i mute the TV i will be able to hear wireless.

I am just 5 feet in front of the TV and in line of sight . also i am not going to use this other than TV . RF seems to have more interference issues than IR .

As long as Transmission is not Digital you will not get good sound quality.

I would not suggest FIIO + Wireless Headphones combo as transmission is analog. But if you are ok to compromise on sound quality then go for it if it fits your budget.

Another option I would like to suggest is Optical to Bluetooth adapter(Toslink to Bluetooth Converter - TOSBLUE) + any good Bluetooth headphones that fits your budget.

One more option is forget about wireless just use FIIO + good Wired headphone. :)

infra red? are you sure? nobody uses infra red in this age. You should be looking for something in the likes of bluetooth.

A beautiful, well-constructed speaker with class-leading soundstage, imaging and bass that is fast, deep, and precise.
