I happened to hear:
Denon 1610 + Polk 6750 = Rs. 55k
Denon 1610 + Focal Sib & Co. = Rs.75k
Yamaha YHT-392(HTiB) = Rs. 35k
Yamaha RX-V467 + Yamaha NS-380 speakers = Rs. 42k
My requirements:
Room size 15x15,
Striclty 5.1,
Music:Cinema=60:40,
Budget=Rs 45k
For 42" Plasma TV
Mostly play DVD and HD content from laptop with HDMI out
Airtel DTH
Will add Xbox/Sony Playstation in future
Though Denon with above 2 combination speakers were good, the price isn't in my range. But, the Yamaha 392 HTIB was fabuluous and I loved the fine sharp music sounds. I was more impressed with Yamaha than Denon.
But, Y 392 has HDMI pass-through and no DTS decoding. I was told that there's new model Yamaha RX-V467 with HD audio decoding, no OSD and 7.1 optional upgrade.
My issue:
The RX-V467 has no video upscaling/upconversion. I am told that it doesn't matter much. Upscaling will enable different sources like composite from DTH, S-video from DVD etc upscaled via single HDMI from AVR to my TV and only switching the AVR inputs will be enough. Without upscaling i'll need to have same outputs to TV eg. composite out for DTH and S-Video from DVD from AVR to TV and i'll need to select change the source both in the AVR and TV everytime. The next model RX-V567 is 5k constlier than 467. The Denon 1610 is 2k costlier than 467, but has only upscaling from 480i to 480p.
Please correct me if am wrong and suggest me which is worth the money in my case RX-V467/567 or Denon 1610.
I am opting for the Yamaha NS-380 speakers (of YHT-392) as they sounded better for me. Please suggest any better speakers for RX-V467/567 or Denon 1610 in my budget.
