I opened the thread thinking there is a review inside. Subject line didn't tell me it is a thread looking for help. telling this to Solve your views va reply puzzle. I doubt anyone here would have heard it.

Anm, Yes, a more descriptive title would help. But the lack of response,( i mean 73 views)I guess,is because the yulong d100 is pretty much an unknown commodity here in our forum.

From what I have followed on head fi and comp audiophile, the d100 II seems to do asynchronous usb, uses the ad 1955 dac and has positive reviews on the sound signature, with remarks like "detailed", "textured with body to the sound" etc.
However, in the head fi yulong d100 thread, I have also noticed many complaints regarding reliability issues.

The Yulong Sabre D18 seems to be the focus of attention of audiophiles, from the Yulong range, but its about 250$ more expensive.

The Yulong D100 II still doesn't have asynchronous USB. It says the new Tenor TE7022 USB receiver which has support for ASIO. Could be the older TAS1020B USB controller in adaptive mode in the earlier D100 version didn't have support for ASIO.
But Wavelength Audio, Audiolab, Arcam, Musical Fidelity etc. used the same TAS1020B USB controller in Asynchronous mode with ASIO support.

ravi_d, My bad! Guess the only change is the Tenor chip which supports ASIO. The "plump"er sound signature is something one can only find out after listening to it personally.

Nagurum, what kind of budget are you looking at? You could look at CA Dacmagic plus, HRT Streamer II( if you dont need a hp out).

I have had mine now a couple of months and I love it. I never tried the old one so I can't say for sure how much different or more 'plump' the sound is but it's really very nice.

Before I had this I came from the Fiio E7+E9, the CEntrance DACport. I know have the Audinst HUD MX-1 and the iBasso D7 and the Yulong is a long way out in front for audio quality, very reliably good and almost smooth sounding by comparison to others yet still very revealing. I have recently heard the Audiolab M-DAC and I am lusting after than now but the Yulong really isn't that far behind.
