Hi. Looks like you got this yourself. I am contemplating between Zidoo Z9X PRO 4K vs Zidoo Z9X 8K . Can you please share some insights? All my content is in external HDDs and I am not looking for streaming content.

Got a Zidoo Z9x 8k over the weekend. Compared to my Z9X 4k, I see and hear significant improvement. In PQ, I think the black levels, detail retrieval and overall brightness/contrast ratio of darker films - especially using the standard DV EDID is really superb, and overall I feel SQ is also better than the 4k unit. Plus the remote is much more superior and even the UI etc. is more improved. Was concerned about being an early adopter, but I am quite satisfied. Attached some screen shots.

I would advice against z9x pro as this is the latest version. Like DAC's. streamers etc. better to get the latest in digital, as older versions are outdated both in SQ and PQ, though lot of die-hards keep preferring older versions for whatever reason. They eventually move to new versions after praising the old ones.

May be new year i will move from my z10 pro to new one.

With the Z9x 8k, DV movies are really good on my sony projector. On the Z9 4k, they were too dark, and even HDR is better. So if you watch in these formats I would definitely recommend the 8k versions.
