10" Subwoofer simulation graphs - please add your suggestions

if you go for passive radiators, instead of port, you can make the box size substantially small.
In fact, i do have two 6" passive radiators. As far as I know, each of them can be used along with a 4" full range/mid driver.

Making compact speakers is one of my primary goals. However, i have to study and understand the passive radiator concepts.

Some very basic design calculations, matching the driver & passive radiator, etc ..... Or atleast a few thumbrules I had to help learn. Il keep reading.... :):)

A PR can be made (DIY) with just the cone, basket, spder and added weight for tuning. Its even possible to omit the basket if cone has a larger surround and 2 are used back to back like this https://www.spacehifi.com.au/image/...ep10-v2/earthquake-sound-minimep10-v2-d01.jpg

Use 2 10" passives on opposite sides, quite a bit of savings in real estate, all other things being equal
No need of calculation, first note the tuning frequency from the ported simulation. Now keep adding mass to PR till the tuning frequency is reached in impedance curve. The minimum impedance between the peaks is the tuning frequency. http://images.audiojudgement.com/2016/08/impedance-bass-reflex.jpg

I learned something new with this info.
Thanks a lot !!!

I will surely try a woofer with a passive radiator soon.

The below thread is somewhat extreme and crazy. But its very interesting.

This guy managed to pack one tweeter, one mid, two woofers, and two passives in a small bookshelf.
