2 LCD/LED/PLASMA for public display

Hi,

With your help and suggestion i bought onkyo 3200 5.1 few months back, and this time , i wanted to install 2 LCD/LED/PLASMA for waiting lounge for public viewing ...

Since its a small ceieling , i cant go big , so anything between 25-32 or something in that range would be good..

One LCD is for my room... same size ..

Also for public viewing i thought of running a looped video ... so any cheap video player would be good... suggest one .. and also other thing i should consider...(mostly tom and jerry , mr.bean ) something like that...

I am not particularly looking for the best here ... and also since volume would be low or even mute

so i just want a good LCD / Cheap but something good for long time running...,Cost is a factor....

In my room i might have a slightly better TV ..

both are to be wall hung..

Please suggest

cost is the factor .. then go for plasma and dvd player and that should solve the problem.. and getting a long composite cable will also be not an issue. and dvd player will do just fine for a 720p plasma..

arent plasma a bit costly ? also any idea why model or anything specific model in mind ?

Plasma is not an option for this size (32), I would suggest you buy the cheapest one with 3 year warranty.

You can buy NBOX for 1700 Rs and that would be more than enough if you want to play the same video on these two TVs. Just take AV Out, have some electrician split the Audio+Video cables and connect it to both TVs.

try to get 720p plasmas as you need it for publib viewing so 1080p does not make sense..

or you can get the 32in lcd from sansui or mosrbear for 18-19k . and they will do the job..

for public viewing i believe that lcds are better than plasmas. though they are slightly more expensive they last longer (though the new plasmas are pretty up there too) and are less expensive to run (about 1/3rd lower on power consumption). also the brightness of an lcd gives a 'better quality' feel to it

guys what would be the apt size ? i am confused with it.. viewers will be about 5-8 feet from tv.. ..

also any suggestion on which brand ? even if its cheap but comes with good warranty coverage.. that would do.. as i am not into clarity or things like that..

Get a Toshiba 32inch AV700 series which is HD ready and sells for 20k. Its perfect VFM and PQ is the best in that and upto 25k price range

I would suggest get a lcd with USB input. You can play the clips with small pen drive. No seperate player needed. Saves money/space/wirings
