Hi Guys,
This is my first time here so pls be patient if I ask the wrong questions:o
I have a 5.1 channel Yamaha RX V461 100W RMS per channel.and Lithos Noa 1 satellites with passive sub-woofer.All speakers including the sub-woofer are rated at 70W RMS at 6 ohms.Question is I would like to connect 2 Lithos Noa passive subs to my receiver but it only has one input.
Please advise if this is possible and what is the right way to do this,
Thanks in advance for your help.
Alan

You will not be able to connect a passive sub to the .1 of your amp, its the Low Pre out. You should have a sub with built in amp aka an active sub.

For connecting 2 subs, if the active sub has any line out use it to feed the second one, else use a good rca splitter from the LFE out of your amp

@ alandabreo - do we know each other?

What I can suggest

Use y splitter One RCA at one end amd 2 RCAs at other end

So you have 2 outputs..

Give this 2outputs to Stereo amp ( L&R)
Power amp will do but I think some sort of volume control is necessary.
Speaker out of amp to subs.
If your AVR is having bass management you can xperement with different cutoffs ..also Lithos founder can help you.

KAPIL (@ kapvin) please can you help as this idea is"inspired" from your setup and discussion at your place about your DIY dual 12 Inch sub!

IMHO 2 woofers are better as some sort of balance can be achieved .
Just see that both woofers are same

Now 2 channel amps are avilable at good price in secondhand market ...

I am at sanpada vashi and if you are in near vicinty we can try one of my 2 channel amp ..I tnink I have a long y cable too.

Your first sub connected to the Yamaha is sleeping firstly. You have to connect a powered sub to the Yamaha .1 out.

You can search for a new powered sub from DNM Pace in Mumbai starting around 9K, to Polk Audio from 12-30K, then to whatever your price/wallet can fancy.
Used subs could take some time to find and inalise... so there you go.

The alternate of connecting your passive subs to another amp of course exists... Highly avoidable- IMHO.
