40" LED/Plasma for 50-55k in chennai

Hi all,
My friend wants to buy LED tv 40" in chennai and his maximum budget is 50-55k(i dragged him to this budget from 40k). he is considering only LED but if i can get a 42" ST30 in this price i can talk him out of LED but i think its unlikely.
he is not interested in 3D but more in to HD picture quality.
please help in suggesting a tv according to his needs. reading through the forums i found Ex520, D5500 as good choices but i dont know their current chennai prices(please provide a store name from which i can enquire prices) and not sure any new 2012 models are better choice.

Hi,
You must be aware of Samsung 2012 LED models. They have updated their website last week. They have mentioned MRPs of some of the models on the website. I am also waiting for their prices and new Panasonic 2012 Plasma models. I was about to buy Samsung 5500 but I cancelled when I heard about new range is due shortly. From their I decided to wait till I check plasma quality as well.
Let us know what you decide.

If the 42ST30 fits in the budget...............GRAB IT!!!! better than any LED tv in the same price. Even though it's 3D which is not a requirement, GRAB IT!!! one of Panasonic's best plasma tv that has already made a lot of news. If interested I can give you loads of reviews and sites to further highlight how good the tv is.

I quite a newbie but I am a proud owner of a 42ST30 for about 3 months now. I am now looking to add to it bit by bit starting with a media player and then an AV receiver + speakers. Budget is a a bit of a constraint, however, would like to know a decent AV receiver + speakers combination. Am quite a music buff too if that helps you to make a fair suggestion on the combo.

Lets look at media player and HT setup separately. You have not mentioned budget hence I am unable to give you options.

MEDIA PLAYER : Many in the market, ensure you get one that supports all formats so it will play anything you throw at it. Some of them good ones are:

Depending on budget you can get a good HT system. In order of priority :

AVR + 5.1 speaker system (front tower speakers for a big room)
AVR + 2.0 speaker system (2 good front speakers, can add other speakers later)
AVR + 5.1 satellite speaker system
HTIB : Onkyo HT-S3500, Denon 1312XP budget : 25-30k

There are many options if you give the budget and room size.

Sarvesh it's better if you post a new thread for your requirement in the required section.

Not yet bought coz the Samsung person told me that the D series will be arriving in a week's time and he only has the display piece to give, if needed urgently. you are more inclined towards Samsung as you watched Sony Ex520 in a showroom and wasn't much impressed with PQ.
But just came to know yesterday that 40 inch Ex520 is available for 58k. That price is a steal so have to check it out. And you should try to check in the same shop for 40D5500 price and let you know the price.

Guys please provide name and contact no for atleast one good reliable shop in chennai for buying tv...viveks girias doesn't seem to work too much priced..
