Hello guys
I'm on the lookout to guy a 5.1 speaker system.
I'll be connecting through my laptop and have a budget of 15k.
I have no idea about the connections and all required.
So would appreciate the help :)

i have bought a Edifier da5000 pro speakers and it will be delivered to me tomorrow.
It has 5.1 RCA-in and one L/R PC-in and one L/R AUX-in. They were around 9k from infibeam.

Another option is the logitech z5500 speakers which i think retails around 16K.

These are the two i could think of now, and then there is the Altec Lansing MX-6021 2.1 systems which retails around 7-8K.

Hope this helps. :)

You will also need a 5.1 sound card to take full advantage of the speaker system, since most laptops have only stereo output. Look for Logitech z5500. It has onboard DTS and Dolby Digital decoders and is THX certified. Since you are a newbie here, take your time to read the surround amplifier and Home Theater threads. After a few weeks, you will definitely change your perception about sound systems and you will be wanting more and ready to shell out that extra money.
