Hi Everyone,

I've been looking for a 65inch Mini LED TV since the last 1 year. Read through almost all threads on this forum, rtings and reddit. Finally decided to buy TCL C72K.
But the 65 inch model has been out of stock since a long time. I had visited almost all brand stores in Hyderabad, Vijay Sales, Bajaj Electronics, Reliance Digital etc. But none of them have C72K/C7K.
Recently heard the news about C7L launching in India, thought will go for that, but no store has it yet.

Requirement
  • Mini LED (don't want to deal with OLED burn-in and need high brightness)
  • High refresh rate (above 120hz native)
  • Google TV
My research
  • Sony 5/7 Series: Good but way overpriced in India, when you compare with USA, you are paying more than 50K premium for nothing.
  • TCL C7K/C72K: Preference, or else C7L might work too if reasonably priced
  • Samsung/LG: don't like the OS
  • Hisense: reviews said they have worse QC than TCL
Appreciate all replies!

I recently auditioned for 65 Mini LED
this is my experience n view.

LG : More features, Air magic mouse, Ai tech n alpha8 processing, found these better. Facial tones were better n overall scenes didn't look washed look like Samsung QNED. Content looked more vibrant. Tried watching Animated series too. Looked great on it. Alpha A8 processor, Ai picture setup n magic remote also a ++ on this.

TCL: (65 C6K ) 7K is not available in my city ,,Similar to LG minus the Ai features n overall little less vibrant compared to LG. HD playback n skin tones look best on this TV. Samsung shows smoothened face tones n sharpness n separation was not there.

SAMSUNG: 4K content played great on the In-Store Demo videos , you tube 4k videos etc.
But it failed to deliver like TCL (especially ) in HD n DTH Content . There was lot of whites in viewing compared to the other 2 Tvs.

For HD Content LG & TCL performs best where the facial tones and sharpness is moe compared to Samsung where it offers Softened tones and whites as its an Edge LED compared to Mini LED (LG & TCL C6K)

LG>>TCL>>SAMSUNG
Finally I settled for LG QNED 658XA.

If samsung/Lg is in your budget you may buy that and add apple tv for smart features. The new apple tv is around the corner.
Really like this idea too. What if I pair Apple TV 4k with a cheaper TV (like TCL C6K), does apple tv handle the upscaling too?
And how does it work with gaming consoles, sound systems.
And hopefully this year, apple tv starts supporting higher refresh rates.

There is no need for upscaling as the tv and source both are 4k. As for gaming consoles, you can connect it to tv and use arc to play in your sound system. Else, connect the console on your sound system directly.
Hopefully this year they support hfr. New apple tv will be launched within weeks. Its better to wait.
