For teenagers in 1970’s and 80’s the radio was an important part of our lives. Truly it was a friend through our teenage nights. Radio Ceylon, 19 & 25 m , Radio Australia ,13 m and 25m , Radio Kuwait 19 m , All India Radio , VOA and BBC all had music programs with songs still embedded in our memories. HMV, Philips, Nelco, Murphy , Bush, Telerad and other companies manufactured those lovely thick sounding valve radios till solid state took over. Magic eyes fascinating flicker and big glass dials glowing orange had their own charm. Yes the radio took us through an important part of our journey through the years.

I still sort of live like that, even if no one else understands or cares. 5-tube AM sports broadcasts and oldies when life/programming (and patience with radios) permit :)
