I am with a not so 'audiophile'ish DIY
This little 4 LED VU works well with speaker wires , most amps with power 20W onwards

-it is not matched to db levels
-just for casual usage , no serious audiophile design
All can make at Rs12 to 20 nothing to loose . Adding a capacitor and diode voltage doubler helps
( circuit in video has 2 diode 2 capacitor doubler at input)
