Hi Folks,

Just a quick note about completing an year with the super value Acer H5370BD projector. I have clocked 608 hours as of now, that is approximately an average of 2 hours per day.

This was one of the best purchases have made and it has given me immense joyous hours. It has worked effortlessly and flawlessly and I am sure it will serve me for for some more years. Godspeed!

Twice, I had this flicker issue where the picture flickered and went to a gray and white mode, I switched off and rebooted and it worked fine again. Don't know what may be the cause, this happened only twice during the entire year.

A one year update will help people sitting on the fence about the build quality.

That's all for now,
Prem

Congrats for the anniversary of Acer model.Your acer h5370 thread is a dragon thread, whoever reads that thread fall into its prey and buy this vfm projector.I'm also bitten by this dragon, bought its younger bro H5380 this month, not yet set up fully .Absolutely great pq and dispaly.Watching FIFA wc and bluray movies on even yellow wall .You are a great influence for this Projector. Thanks to you ,jsanand,Prosenjit dada, baiju and all those helped to buy my ht gears.

I am on the way too.It gave problem once as entire system shut down(Yamaha AVR ,5370)
Dont know the reason, may be heat.Otherwise its VFM/smart purchase.

Congrats Prem! Definitely a great VFM buy. Thanks for sharing your experiences and opinions in detail. Has helped a lot of us make up our minds. May you have many more joyous hours with it.

Cheers

Well Prem - congratulations and also thanks for reminding me to pop a champagne for my own PJ completing a full year...it has been a real happy year of ownership and I thank all of you for making at an ever growing club.

While work has been keeping me off HFV for some time - I do drop in to view the H5370 impressions thread and whoa sooner than later it will be a thread with 1000 posts! You all have turned a simple review into an information warehouse on the projector!

Wishing all of us many more happy returns of the day and long years of successful ownership of this beauty!

Thanks Anand, you were the first one to buy, you inspired so many with your initial review. Thank you and wishing you many many more hours.

Think time now for us to start a thread that talks about maintenance tips for this beauty! If there are any tips readily available - lets start flowing them in.

Congratulations Anand and Prem - You guys inspired me to buy my PJ and it is running great. Absolutely zero maintenance required so far.

Did you try or change the settings. I tried some settings like Brightness 46, Contrast 54 and Sharpness 10 in the user mode with all the enhancement features off. It definitely improved the quality but I am not very sure that this is the optimum setting.

If you don't mind please share your settings. My apologies if I missed this information in any of the earlier threads but this question seems more relevant now.

R, Vinay

It is mentioned that when the PJ reaches 1000 hours, you will have to clean the filter. Have anybody did this for this or any other projector?

Completed 2 months :) and only around 80 hours by now. Not getting enough time to spend with it, but each moment I spare for this beauty is really awesome :)

For excellent sound that won't break the bank, the 5 Star Award Winning Wharfedale Diamond 12.1 Bookshelf Speakers is the one to consider!
