Acer H5370BD - Impressions

I recommend Sammy's Adventure part 1 & 2 in 3D. I would say this is the best 3d movie i loved in pop outs. guys who own 3d projectors should watch this. Demo worthy.

i agree with sammy's adventure. have watched both in 3D though just side by side only but was good experience.

the starting scene of the Sammy's -2 with the birds flying and the boat scene of the birds fighting with the folks were amazing.


another movies to watch in 3d are Madagascar-3 , Cloudy with a chance of meatballs-2

The best review for Acer H5370BD PJ - Given by my 2 year old daughter while watching a 3D documentary movie... "Daddy, look fishes are flying.." That was worth all the effort and wait !!!

Great to know that.....But dont expose your little angel to 3D soon as I read some articles saying 3d is not good for child's eyes.No substantiating evidences though...Enjoy the Acer Experience....

Ok Guys now I have a problem and need help.

First my HTPC Config
AMD A6 3500 APU - 3 Cores HD 6530D 2.1GHz
MSI A75 G55 MoBO
4 GB Ram
64 GB SSD
Samsung BD Drive
6 TB of HDDs connected to USB ports.

The Source Feeds to

HTPC - > Yamaha 667 -> AVR Splitter - > 1) ACER H5370BD - > View with Sainsonic 3d Glasses
2) -> LG PK 550 ( Non 3D plasma)

I use XBMC Gotham Nightly for 3D support.

All 3D Samples with HSBS OU play extremely well with no issues.

The Problem is the 3D blu ray physical discs that I have
1. Hobbit AUJ - 3D
2. Pacific Rim - 3D

I cant play with XBMC as it does not supports , MVC.

When I play with Arcsoft TMT5 , There are no 3D effects. It doesn't matter which type I select in PJ, SBS, OU, Frame packed.

Neither does Power DVD work.

What am i missing?

1. Is my APU not capable to out 3D natively. It works with every 2D Format I can throw at it even Full BD Discs.
2. Do I need to convert the BD to SBS Half or Full, If yes that what tool to use as I need to keep DTS - HD MA audio part.

Try Potplayer which is free and works well in my setup(667 n 5370).

its not the APU but the limitation or say failure of PC based apps. XBMC will only play SBS/OU with the latest Gowtham.

As suggested try Pot player as the BD.iso which is ideally Frame Packed is for BDP's and not for PC based playback. hence the apps are not optimised for the same.

Also check if the Splitter is High Speed Hdmi compatible..!! frame packed needs High speed Hdmi : 10.2 Gbps. also check for your cable. if they are standard HDMI or High speed HDMI.

Splitter or the cable seem to be culprit here.
But will try pot player. Dont want to remove splitter and cant remove cable (Too much work)

Also all please suggest what to use to convert blu ray 3D to SBS Half with DTS - HD MA ?

Do you have a separate 3D capable GPU? If not 3d blu-ray disks won't work. The onboard amd gpu is not 3d capable. I have the same configuration, but with asus motherboard. I used nVidia GT520 to play 3d blu-ray disks/iso.

I have a slim case from Iball so no idea if card will fit or not but found this.

try TMT6 else POT player. as A6 APU and above should be able to do 3D.
a lot of settings needs to be checked. Hardware acceleration etc.

if i am not wrong ps3 only has hdmi and optical out. how do you plan to use these ?

whats your budget as you would need an audio source with optical IN if not hdmi. else use PC based setup and get Z506 for 6k you will have proper 5.1 sound from PC as source.

This is a bluetooth player.. and can easily lock in with the PS3 bluetooth

PS3 can connect upto 5 bluetooth devices..

Hi guys,

Make sure to clean the lens regularly with soft cloths. Because they are prone to dust. I founded the image to get washed out and was very unhappy with the picture. And then I figured out a lot of dust in the projecting lens. SO I used the cloth that is provided for the glasses and gently cleaning of them. After that the picture is mind blowing. SO you all guys also need to clean them safely at regular intervals.
