Acoustic portrait Swara Tube buffer V2 (A review)

ok ..so there is pronounced thump when speakers are connected directly and I switch off the power .

When connected via FOSI ...that thump is very less , Its almost the same or slightly bigger than the click sound that you hear outside in FOSI when you toggle between buttons . But the sound is coming from the speakers for sure . Even when using the power button from Fosi remote the sound comes from the speakers .

I have sort of tried to fix this problem for a long time . Guess will have to live with it . I read in google that these Thumps are normal and do not damage the speakers . Then there were some posts which said DC current is being passed in Speakers and eventually they will destroy the speaker coil as time goes by . Some of them have lost speakers .

I have an option of Speaker A , Speaker B in Marantz PM8005 which I can use to disconnect speakers before switching off . BUT again I have read that - Amps cannot be switched on without speaker load and that will damage the amps .

So if I have only one set of speakers connected (to Speaker A) ....Switch to Speaker B and Switch off the Amp , I can avoid the thump and this works . Now while switching it on again there are no speakers connected to B , which means no load scenario ? ... With FOSI i can switch on FOSI first and then switch on the amp to avoid this scenario

Hi, I just noticed your few past posts and discussion. I do not get any thump in speaker while I operate my amps. There are two amps connected to Fosi LC30 in my current set up. Cambridge audio is connected to amp B, and Norge to amp A. Wharfedale spk pair is connected to Speaker 2. Usually when I operate from amp B there is no need for the fosi device to be powered on, But when I have to operate for amp A then the Fosi device to be powered and the selector switch to be in the Amp B and Speaker 2 respectively,

As I am not a technical person I am not able to really understand the kind of problem you are facing. But just as a precaution try to decrease the vol to minimum before you switch off your system and when switching on try to increase the vol of the amp only after speaker protection has played it's part. It just take 2-3 seconds in Norge amp case when the amp is powered on it creates a small click sound that is speaker protection. In both my amps I have same type of speaker protection only the Cambridge takes little more time then Norge. I hope it will be the same in both of your amps.

Try adopt some safeguard while switching on and off the amplifiers and also when one amp is not in use just keep it powered off and vol to minimum. Just like I told above check and see, little bit of experimentation and you will find a way out.
