Airtel HD Set Up Box

Hi Experts ,

I am planning to upgrade mt STB to HD STB. I have a Panasonic Plasma(HD ready ) with 1 HDMI SLOTS.

Which is the best way to get good sound and Video Output. It would also be great if some one can post the Pictures of AIRTEL HD SETUP BOX with the slots.

The airtel HD-DVR STB has one HDMI out, one optical out for sound and the usual red,green and yellow RCA outs for sound and video apart from one USB slot and LAN port. Plus two inputs for the 2 cables running from the antenna.

If you have a HDMI equipped AVR you can connect the HDMI directly from the STB to the AVR which will carry video and sound, and then from the HDMI out from your AVR to the TV. Other option in connect the STB to TV via HDMI and connect the optical out to your AVR for sound- this is what I have done.

First of all Airtel HD settop box is decent but service is not as good as Tata sky. As long as if its running without any issues its fine. Picture quality is good.

You will get the decent sound in TV with the HDMI connection.

To get the real good sound you need to get the good Home theater system with Dolby digital decoder and connect with the digital coaxial cable. You can watch movies with surround sound especially in Movies Now HD, Star movies HD , Star gold HD( its very good, most of the movies broadcasted in Dolby digital,but only hindi movies).
