It's not cheating if India is not covered by their guarantee. Did you check about the guarantee before placing the order?

I received my BDs after Delivery date. Now if BDs are bought from amazon store, they may resend.3rd Party rules can be different.

Amazing thing is India is not part of Amazon marketplace guarrantee countries covered : ( click on the link in the email quoted above , you get Countries Covered

this looks bad..why don't these websites start covering India whats the harm that we end up using other ways to get it to India not cool its 21st Century with India and China now leading I suppose and they still don't cover us....and its not just Amazon pretty much any website its like that only....

Err, aren't these things in the fine print anyways. Isn't it always - Buyers, beware! ?? Did this change sometime in the recent past?

Comeon guys!

I think the blame for this one lies with the Indian postal and customs departments. It raises the cost of such guarantees significantly.

You are right, the buyer should be careful. Yes, Indian Postal Service does not work too well and Amazon have a different rules for marketplace and Amazon-direct.

But it is a shame on Amazon UK to not include "I for India" in their A to Z Guarantee. This has to change.

Also, the biggest factor in an online purchase is trust. The buyer pays for a product expecting to receive it. He should be offered protection afterall he is buying from Amazon Marketplace. Amazon UK should be able enforce this, if not I'd be wary of buying from them.

Whats happening Amazon & Ebay.in? We have seen such cases from both in the last few days. NOT ACCEPTABLE - not from two of the biggest names in online shopping:sad:

My german friend send few gift items through their postal service to me and he never informed me this until he met me last month. He send this surprise gift on february and i have not received it so far. He contacted german postal service and they confirmed that they send it via indian postal service. I am sure some unethical employee/s of our postal service swallowed it and I am sure it never happened at German side.

Blame it on on unethical and corrupt indians in the chain it could be postal service or customes, Amazon seller would have send it and our people would have stolen it.

Amazon seller would have send it and our people would have stolen it.

indian postal service are thieves...

Sweeping generalizations like these are not true. I know of one dealer who gets his gear shipped from EU via the postal service and it reaches safely every time. Not all postal officials are thieves.

Agree with Bluu on blanket statements made ^. You guys may also be unintentionally painting a wrong picture of our country on the WWW.

If one is not confident about the postal service, they should opt for DHL/Fedex or similar.

A few months ago I bought both new and used cds through Amazon 'other sellers' option. The cds were shipped to me in two batches. One batch arrived within the stipulated period. The other got delayed. I wrote to the seller following the manner prescribed by Amazon. I received a prompt reply from Amazon that I should wait for the completion of 30 days before filing a claim. They also mentioned that under the a-z guarantee they would take up the matter on my behalf. And that the guarantee would be voided if the buyer directly got in touch with 'other sellers' for buying products or filing a claim, without following the procedures established by Amazon. A few days later I received the other batch so the matter ended there. Memory may be playing tricks. I will try to locate the mail ( if I still have it ) and copy paste the relevant sections.

I have received 100's of cds through the Indian Post. Sometimes they get delayed but no cd has ever gone missing. The major problem I have faced is cracked jewel cases on triple CD sets. I think the culprit is the hard clamp on the carrier of the postmans bicycle. I don't think Amazon is aware of the vice like grip which the carrier of an Atlas bicycle has :)

Buy from India's official online dealer!
