Hi,

I have a 5 year old Harman Kardon AVR 635. I purchased this in US and not using it for a while now.

It is 7.1 AVR but doesn't accept the new formats but can be used as amp with 7.1 input.

Is there any market for this AVR? What price can I expect?

Thanks

_Rahul.

If the AVR is still in good working condition &if you like it, keep it... Look for a Bluray player/Media player that can decode most of the formats, has 7.1 outputs and complement your existing AVR....

I am contemplating on gettin a Oppo 103D and use it as pre-pro. To me there are few disadvantages to this approach.

1. There is only one input.
2. The dual is limited, I want to connect both TV and projector at the same time.
3. There are no room correction. This is quite important to me. When I use AVR-635 in 8 channel input mode the room correction are not used.

On the plus side, it has great video processing capabilities, especially the 'D' version. Better than any AVR in my price range.

But you are right, its really good amp and its in great working condition. If I cannot sell this at decent price then I will go with Oppo for now.

Can one please let me know what price to except?

Thanks

13K - 15K would be a very good price for your AVR, provided you have the remote in good working condition... it has 3 optical & 3 co-axial inputs, Pre-outs.....
