So, here's the story in short - I researched for about 2 weeks and finally zoomed in on the Optoma GT750E - because of the built-in 3D and good picture quality (720p is good enough for me)

but today - i saw this on Amazon UK and benq's website:

BENQ MW519

WXGA(1280 x 800)
Brightness - 2800AL
Contrast Ratio - 13000:1 !!
Built in HDMI 1.4 port - direct support for Nvidia and Blu-ray players/PS3
Talks of 6000 hr lamp life.
+ 2 years warranty (i know not valid in india - but the idea is reassuring that a company would vouch for their product for 2 yrs)

The price is ridiculously cheap at around 500 Euros!!! I was gonna pay more for the GT750

NOT sure if its a new product (my title is misleading), so still can't find any detailed reviews

Here's the link: http://www.benq.com/product/projector/mw519

What do you guys think of BENQ and this ? worth taking a chance over this?

What are you main requirements for the pj?
In what kind of a setup are you planning to use it?

Based on these one can comment if its good / value for money / if a better exists..

If 3D is one of the main concerns i would suggest you look for a DLP Link based system which would use generic 3d glasses which are more economical and brand independent

chose it "because of the built-in 3D and good picture quality "
Sorry I should have been more clear

Looking mainly for 3D + movies - no gaming. 720p is fine.
so inbuilt 3D adapter is an absolute must

Will be connecting it to the BDT220.

The GT750E will cost me $720 net.
MW519 is launching on Oct 28 and the pre-order price on BENQ USA is $559 net

All i wanna know is should i wait for the BENQ or go with Optoma?

It's a good thing only a few projectors have inbuilt HDMI 1.4 support - so i haven't gotten terribly confused......yet

If price is a factor to be considered in your selection, note that the 3d Glasses would come at additional cost and adds up to your total system cost.

In terms of 3d, GT750E is a better choice in my opinion as the DLP Link glasses for these are relatively inexpensive.

The benq dosent seem to be a DLPLink system, and is 500 euro + cost of 3d glasses at atleast 50+ a piece.

In summary, purely by the specs available, the GT750E seems to be a better choice.

so the MW519 doesn't support DLP link?

GT750 it is then!

I don't believe that this is true. I am just starting to play with the 3D on my MW519 using my I3 laptop's integrated video and a set of aftermarket DLP Link SainSonic glasses that were running around $25 a set.

I have yet to hook it up for Blue Ray viewing, but I fully expect to have them work fine.

I decided against the GT750 because it does not offer any zoom adjustment making it hard to mount.

I'm happy with my MW519 and you can follow my experiences over here

Even I am confused between the Optoma 750E ($640) and Benq 519 ($560).
I see a lot of reviews for Optoma 750E but hardly any reviews for Benq 519.

Screen Size would be 100-105". Would be using it on Table Top since Mount Option is too long 16' from PJ Screen.

750E seems a short throw PJ. Only 63" throw distance for a 100" screen whereas 519 requires 123" for 100: screen.

750E requires PJ to be places 10" below the screen. I am worried my center does not come in between.

Any suggestions? Thanks.

The Optoma 750E has no zoom capability-- You are right is that it has a short throw distance of 63 inches from screen.

What is your ceiling height-- assuming that your ceiling is 10 feet--you can mount this from the ceiling with a 3 feet pole--- That gets you (120-9-36-49)= 26 inches above the floor or roughly 50 inches to the center of the screen from the floor
