i have given the reply in other thread! please see - my name is suri and i am not a terrorist!

genuinely laugh out loud stuff suri. Poor Sonal here seems very determined to buy the Sony system.

Sonal, this is a forum for hi fi enthusiasts who appreciate quality audio. Sony and quality audio have very little to do with each other, especially these days, and in India.

But it will go really loud, provide a lot of 'thump' and the LCD screen looks quite cool. If this is what you want for 24,000 bucks, by all means buy the Sony. But let's not confuse Sony and quality.

@ Sonal
Pls refrain making duplicate posts, it just adds onto the irrelevant threads and more jon for the moderation panel.

At the same time, if u have ur eyes set on the Sony, pls go ahead and pick it. Sony speakers dont crack ..till you really pump them at full volume. Thats a really feature only available in Sony hifi. I have the Sony 4700 watts PMPO and it doesnt crack at all (its probably somewhere in the store room, where it does what it should) since i have some systems which crack at loud volume but i like the way they look. Much better than my old Sony.

Sony will also be offering warranty on the set and rest all features highlighted by Suri in your first post hold quite valid.

Pls purchase it, show-room must go on and the show for later !

cheers

hi snal i hv mhc 222 2600 watt it sounds gud but when i tried the same spkrs same source with tripath amp i found the diff in sound quality. You wil never found detailing of sound in sony sys copared to amp or comp based sys.
My views nly.

Sonal,

I owned a sony once and loved it a lot. They make very good audio systems.
If you want a simple audio system which plays 'sweet digital music', Please go ahead and buy it.

The other world in audio that exists is that of amplifiers, DAC, CDP and other audio gizmos which will give you better audio clarity for the same price, but you should avoid it since it can get complex.

If you want a simple audio system which has a lot of options and features and looks and plays well, please go and buy the Sony.

Hi Sonal,

Audiophiles hate Sony:lol: Reason simple these days due to cost cutting big companys compromised on the real music output. they produce big sound not music.Olden days sony cassette decks used to come. good hi fi systems with big speakers. The more digitalised the more colorisation of music takes place. Frankly, too much of synthesizers electronic adjustments steal the actual performance of an artist. Remember a song is not only the singer:sad: each instrument played is important they are all professionals playing their equipment for years you should listen to it as it is. hope you get it. once you start analysing and listening you will start really enjoy music. This will happen only with a dedicated Amplifier and speaker setup with a good dvd/cdp.

also sonal2323, i am very much wanting to write ( and because my dinner is not served till 9.15 by my slaves) - so i am writing-

i am completely agrreing with your attraction for the sony unit - ONLY ONE POINT, MACHA - when you told DIGITAL then all my hairs at the backside of my neck standing up - why? i am telling now only-

see, how to convert lips and throat and tongue and flesh and blood of genuine singer like Saigal or Yesudas and make it 01010101010101010101010101101010101101010101010101?

no,no,no, - i cannot agree - please take back your statement-

i am suri, and i am not a terrorist.

also, i am telling one more thing - for the sake of ancestors, do not start one more thread - do all the evacuation on this thread (and the other fistulous thread) only - please, i am telling

Hi..friends...
if not sony...any other brand's hi fi system...???
because i already have 2 home theatre systems....
main reason is with amplification comes the wires...joint them..and all....
i want all in one place ..that is my real concern...
and the brands suggested like onkio/products already suggested by you all....etc ..will it be available at visakhapattnam..?I am new to this ...don't take otherwise..

Fine..now can you please suggest me ...
what amplifiers and speakers can i take,,
with a budget of around 25-35k....

Sonal, if you have made up your mind whether you want something that outputs good music rather than one that looks good and takes up minimal space, then like Psychotropic has suggested in your other thread

Amp: Topping tp20( you can buy from ebay.com)/Norge 2060
Cd/dvdp: Cambridge Audio Dv89/99
Speakers: CA s30/ Mission m33i
The whole setup will cost you Rs.25-30k

look at audioengine speakers.Audioengine USA A5 90W Active Bookshelf Speakers - Best Buy -

benefits:

1. they are active speakers which means that the amplifier is already inside the speakers. all you have to connect is a source like a cd player. now comes the second benefit.

2. you don't need to have even a cd player. the audioengine speakers are wireless enabled. a feature which you wanted. this means that if you have a computer with internet connection you can buy apple's airport express, please look at apple.com website or apple.co.in. basically your ethernet cable from your modem gets plugged into airport express and rca cable from airport express gets plugged into speakers. minimal wiring. you can have your music on your computer and stream it wirelessly to airport express which will then transfer the music to your speakers.

3. benefit three is that these are reputed speakers that will give you super sound which will be clear like you want.

since you are not in a big town with lots of dealers i have given you the link to bajaao website in the beginning. these people will ship to your home after you pay them online. if you want airport express i can give you the number of the apple store in bangalore i'm sure if you send them a cheque they'll courier you the item.

regards

Sonal, I am saying this sincerely. Please take Stevie's advice. Although the Topping is a great amp for the price, it is also an amp that requires a fair bit of knowledge to extract its full value. Considering you are starting your hifi journey (and have already been ragged!), please buy an Audioengine A5. It will only cost you 20k and you will enjoy this way way more than any other system for the price. This is an absolutely fabulous way for you to get introduced to decent quality stereo sound.

You will only need to attach the A5 speakers to your DVD player or CD player or iPod or any other mp3 player. This will also be the most hassle-free setup, and will be as easy (actually easier) to setup as a all-in-one system that you are currently used to.

For excellent sound that won't break the bank, the 5 Star Award Winning Wharfedale Diamond 12.1 Bookshelf Speakers is the one to consider!
