Apple music lossless on AVR

The article is from June 2021. Darko made an updated video with correction also after the change in facts. Check it out since u follow him.
I am able to stream 24/48 & 24/96 wirelessly.
With lightening cable ull get 24/192.

But 24/48 24/96 also sounds excellent over airplay connect. Pure digital handshake 🤝 no interference. U can instantly tell the difference as it's powerful output over other personal media.

I've also tried personal media over bubble upnp & hi fi cast player on Android (DLNA), even this sounds great as it does direct stream to DAC and plays ⏯️ 24/192 FLAC. But the problem is many media turns out fake/bogus and u can tell by listening instantly cuz of the difference in output. Plus there's always a limit to personal media. So it's my own practical experience and it works 👍🏼
Well will give it a try in my system, when i used Apple Music last few weeks back i was not getting Hi-Res, i anyways listen to Qobuz more as that gives me Full Hi-Res & no drama, will give apple music a try again.

This is another surprise to me. All these days I thought you could at least play apple music perfectly using ipad and iphone. But the article above shows that 192 kHz is downsampled to 96 kHz by the music app on iphones / ipad to conserve battery. So technically you can play HiRes but not lossless on the ipads and iphones.
In apple how they've categorised it is when u play track if it's a 16 bit it says lossless. If it's a 24 bit /41khz or 48khz track it says lossless. When it's 24/96 or above it says Hi-res lossless.
We all know 16 bit is CD Quality and 24 bit hi res.

When ur streaming digital media, if it sends compressed audio data over to dac it's decoding correctly. That is called lossless as there's no conversion even if ur sending 16 bit or 24 bit. Now since airplay sends compressed data it works. Pure digital handshake 🤝 ( just like we send compressed audio PC>AVR for movies or Nvidia>AVR and it decodes & shows format and u can instantly tell by the sound also when it's decoding right ▶️ ). To same effect music must be sent over a connection digital/analog that can send compressed audio data>AVR or Stereo or USB Dac, so there's no loss even if ur playing 16 bit or 24 bit. That's lossless playback.

Now FLAC (Hi res) may also sound anemic or dull when it's not decoded correctly. When sent as compressed it decodes via DLNA>AVR DAC or physical USB DAC or stereo dac. U can tell the difference instantly if otherway around.

Sure. How did u connect for apple music?

Good to know:
Hi-res music streaming services compared: which should you sign up for? | What Hi-Fi?

So basically the highest format supported by Qobuz, TIDAL & Deezer is FLAC only. Between TIDAL & Qobuz, Qobuz supports more formats that's the USP. But all do FLAC as highest quality.
