I got this from a carnatic music aficionado couple. The couple are in their early 70's were gonna junk it, the old man called me and asked me if I wanted it for free. Without a 2nd thought I picked it up and brought it home.

Apparently I am building a tuner setup at home ( details of which I will share later) and thought that these speakers could be of some use to me. I have been on the lookout for a pair of good used speakers for my tuner setup that I am building on a shoe string budget.

The speaker cones are busted and would require to be replaced. I was wondering if it is worth replacing them with drivers from diyaudio and getting these oldies to sing ?

I aint looking a super sounding tuner rig, but something that can play decent music when I work from home and in the bedroom. What do you all think ?

taming a white elepahnt for something pretty ordinary

who has the space for these beasts nowadays only for a tuner setup

cone tweeters AND tons of plastic? I'll pass.

If the cabinets are in good shape, I suppose it wouldn't hurt to slap a few peerless drivers in them, and see where it goes?

greenie the cabinets are super solid and heavy. I think I will explore what you said, get some drivers from diyaudio and see where it goes.

In all honesty I don't know jack about the insides and choosing drivers. Could someone care to shed light and help this poor soul ?
