From the article, it seems untimely and sudden, his demise. To be able to say when faced with mortality, "There's not going to be a last piece", he must have really "loved" what was also his job.

It is shocking to say the least , with him reviewing Mr Jacob's New Maargas just a while back and besides being active on Stereophile.... Strange times we are living in !
