I made a mistake by going for the DTH instead of CABLE TV. Our Friendly neighbourhood Cable TV is always best.

That's how *most* MNC's seem to work today....unfortunately. It is more market & shareholder oriented, than quality and user satisfaction. A few more *reputed* MBA degree holders is all they need.
I expect them to slowly start hiking the prices. I have also noticed them changing and swapping channels from one pack to another than disabling it for current users and indirectly expecting the customer to opt for another pack...we just fight back and tell them firmly to put it back as it was.
Eventually it is us who is at fault. As it is out ignorance / laziness / lack of time / lack of patience to track which gives them the liberty to play around.

It is the same analogy I use. The reason auto drivers pick a number from a hat is because there are such customers who don't understand the value of money.

Also, as per rules they are not supposed to charge free channels. But they do!

Could some one please put more lights here by stating what are the free channels TATA Sky has charged for all these days? I would definitely like to know and then I will run behind them.

I am a Tata Sky user for past 3 years and never had any issue. Also all these years they never changed my plan. It was me who called them and asked them to change my plan to something which again they dont have now.

Sticking to this thread, Malayalam regional fare had the following channels - Asianet, Asianet News, kairali, Amrita, surya(malayalam) and DD Malayalam.

Now Amrita, DD Malayalam, kairali are gone. While I am not sure as to how these channels are being charged to the service providers, DD Malayalam, must have been FTA.

However, the thing that gives you a bad taste is that Tata Sky offers you this choice when you sign up , but then drop it subsequently. Legally I suppose they must have covered themselves by a clause which says that they can drop and add any channel as they please....but then where is
the TATA integrity??
