ASIO4all

I've been searching the forum/net for means to improve sound quality output from my old Compaq laptop.I came across something called asio4all which is supposed to be an alternative to the windows default audio drivers.I've installed it and am presently using it with foobar2000.Would someone be able to clarify what settings in asio4all would get the best out it?

asio4all is a way of diversion.If you use Cplay & compare with foobar,you may find difference in SQ.
Cplay- sound is open,wide soundstage(?160 deg),studio like,voice can sound a bit thinner.
Foobar-lively sound with better bass,soundstage lesser than Cplay.

I find ASIO4all way to messy. Once configured properly its good to go. But after fiddling with some ongoing issues, I moved to WASAPI. Never looked back.

For me WASAPI for my foobar feeding DAC ... for music

ASIO4all I use with with Amplitube , makes my laptop low latency guitar rig without any special sound card
