But since we are having it in showroom, I am expecting more to join.

(i personally would not pair the Quad with the M dac and audiolab amp though thats is the favorite pairing of everyone in Singapore )

You mean to say meetings are happening somewhere and interested people are elsewhere.

Well, we do have get-togethers in Chennai, both large and small, and I must have met quite a few great people through his forum. The larger meets have been successful too. I enjoy for the personal contacts and the social life as much as for the gear and the music. I meet people regularly through two or three of my forum memberships: the internet is not just about staring at a screen.

Perhaps some people need to be reminded that hifi is not just about sitting between one's own speakers!

Happy Independence Day to all!

Thanks to all FMs who joined the event!

No new faces this time but we enjoyed meeting each other.

Thanks to Kshitij for opening the showroom for us on a holiday to listen to the Audiolab gear and to Anil for setting the ball rolling.

Denom, Hemant, Darshan, Spirovious, Thecoolestone, pushkarDighe and mpw (impromptu visit)- thanks for coming. Hope you guys enjoyed. We guys should meet more often whatever is the agenda.

Mixed reactions this time for the different gear (between DAC and CDP and between Quad and Dentons) that were played but in the end we know it would boil down to personal preferences. That is why it becomes important to listen to the gear yourself than merely go by other's opinion. Its good to see D&Ds coming forward to host meets and its certainly a good sign in Hifi industry.

thanks santy for the wonderful pics. It was a nice afternoon and i will leave it so santy and denom to put up in more detail - indeed anyone is welcome to describe the day.

For me the highlight of the day was the Red Fort speech by our PM.. finally..finally.. we have a leader who can Speak and STIR... and then the unexpected visit by me to Designer Audio.

Nice meeting fellow FM's too.

I heard the Audiolab sound for the first time and also the quad 11L and 12L and the Dentons.

The Wharfedale Dentons caught my fancy though i would have liked some more time with them. The Audiolab setup is good too for anyone who wants to go for a setup from 1 manufacturer and make a package.

Others liked the 11L as well.

Thanks to our hosts Designer Audio ( Kshitij ) also for a nice afternoon.

Thanks Santy for arranging the meet.Also Kshitij who was extremely co-operative.
Audiolab was a hard setup to listen in Mumbai and finally got the chance today.The combo was very musical.Initially the combo was played via Dentons.This sounded very decent with good vocals and relatively good detailing.
After hearing few tracks we connected Quad L12 speakers and combo sounded better.Details improved and Bass was big.Bass was little unnatural or Boxy.The the combo I liked much was with Quad L11..Soundstage was wide,details were the best in 3 combos and so the vocals.I enjoyed it much.
Finally was happy to meet FM who joined.

Sorry for the delayed feedback, a big thanks to Kshitij, HiFiVision & Santy for making this meet happen. It was really great. Irrespective of what specs an equipment may have, hearing is absolutely necessary, the budget, the sound quality and detailing a really great combo. As Santy mentioned personal preferences I am more in favour of soft and stronger bass. Since I got there bit earlier than others, got few minutes of exclusive audition of the system with the Dentons. The bass was solid and I had to confirm with Anil the absence of an additional woofer . It was a perfect mini meet and a great way to start a long weekend.

Thanks... It is Nikkor 35mm f/1.8g. The lights were minimum inside the showroom but that did not limit this lens.
I too request other FMs to post their impressions.
