Audiophiles, help me out!!

Wow ,that is a large room , you should go for larger speakers ,small bookshelves or satellites with one sub will not be adequate ,since your budget is pretty nice what about looking at inwall active monitors ,go for active so you dont have to worry about what amp to buy and you can spend your moolah on a good Preamp Processor .For active monitors check out the Genelecs (I know I have been pushing them a bit,but I hear them in an install and they blew my mind)

Genelec HT315B
Genelec AIW26
Genelec HTS6 ------->oh PLEASE GET THIS
You could also get 2 SVS Ultra PC13s ,now also available in india ,for your sub requirements.

If you want serious HT performance then look at a minimum woofer diameter of 10 inches .Remember radiating surface area is proportional to impact and as far as sound goes, the larger the better and this holds true especially for HT.

Totally agree with Venkat, you should go for Floorstanders atlest, and in order to remove the complexity further ,lets remove the out board amp (thats why active apeakers) and that leaves you with just the Processor and your Source (Dvd,Bluray etc.)

Martin Logans and Maggies are good for music ,I dont think they are very suited for high spl HT application ,your best bet is conventional transducers mounted in the wall and completely active.

HTH.

Mods,
Can one of you guys explain how one can delete a post? My net connection gets a little fritzy and on refreshing I realise that the same post has been posted 3 times!

Adhiraj, will definitely check out the Genelecs when I am in Mumbai, thanks for the info.

Also, what does everyone think about Emerald Physics CS 2.3s? Would they work if I use them for my front two towers in an HT setup? I have read some good things about them but all from a music perspective.
