Hi everyone,

An idea just crossed my mind yesterday and I thought of sharing the same with all of you and getting more educated on it. It also might be true that it already might be in vogue and that I did not know of it.
We have come across sub-woofers which take care of all aspects of bass, whether it be phase, output, cut-off-frequency and power. The point is, that I have never come across paraphernalia which takes care of the mid and HF in like manner. I mean, that if there are separate such devices which get an input either directly from the source or from an amp tape out /speaker output and drive a particular a driver for that spectrum of sound. In such a way, one can have a first class sound custom made to our liking. System flexibility can easily be incorporated in these devices by adding on control for phase, output, impedance etc.Different hi-end companies would give different sound characteristics to suit everyones tastes and pocket.
I agree that this may be similar to active amps driving different drivers, but then that would take stacks of channels of very good quality and these would be driving drivers in the same column. So flexibility is limited. Moreover the choice of drivers and matching circuits would be best left to professionals who would tune that particular driver to the amp being used.
My DIY friends might have tried a hand on something like this. What is your take on this?
Thanks.

A beautiful, well-constructed speaker with class-leading soundstage, imaging and bass that is fast, deep, and precise.
