Hi friends,

Thanx for the reply kernelpanicpopcorn ... I'm not using Creative 5.1 speakers. At present I'm using the inbuilt speakers of LCD TV. My budget is around 50 K. What if I connect the speaker (new) directly to the BDP ? 7.1 connections are available in the BDP or a seperate Amp is necessary for good qualty audio. Pls guide me.

What is the model number of the speaker system? How many inputs your Creative Speaker system has? If it has separate 5.1 inputs you can connect the analog outputs of the BDP.

judging by your setup, you seem to be more of a videophile.

AFAIK, the oppo has analogue outs for each channel. this means you can connect them to your creatives as long as they have analogue 5.1 input. if they dont, then you will need to buy an avr.

I've creative Inspire 5300 5.1 speakers. But I'm not satisfied with the quality of sound produced by Creative. For best quality audio which set of speakers and amplifiers I've to purchase. Pls guide.

Since you have Oppo Bdp93 which has 5.1 Analogue out so you can look at Violet 5.1 Wireless Speakers System which costs 65K and doesn't require any AVR as the speakers are Active. Also in your case you will be able to enjoy all HD Audio Codecs due to the analogue connection advantage between the player and the Violet's Module. To know more about the system look here : :: Violet ::

The Oppo BDP-93 in this set-up is way overkill. I am sorry to say you have not allocated your budget well. Remember, the chain always only as strong as the weeakest link in the chain. Thus, spending more money on one component in the system is a waste.

PS: You will never get good quality from a wireless speaker setup.

Thanx ashishkesarwani & Sanjay...
I've not yet connected my bdp to creative 5.1 speakers. These speakers sound great when connected to my desktop with creative soundblaster Xfi card attached. I want to check how it works when connected to bdp 5.1 analog. Thanx once again to all of you.

shashidharga,

In my opinion Creative speakers are meant and designed for desktops/laptops only. They were never intended for a full blown home theater. On high volume levels and lower frequencies they start to distort.

You already have a very good source - the oppo. now invest in a decent AVR and speakers. Check out the forum for these. You will have to increase your budget a little.
A good mid-range AV receiver would set you back by INR 35-45k and speakers can go from INR 30K (for complete 5.1 set) to lacs of rupees. There are some good Indian brands as well for speakers like Sonodyne, Lithos etc.

The fact that you have a BR player that has in-built HD audio decoder and analogue outs allows you to buy a 5.1/7.1 ch amplifier also. You can go about building your system in parts i.e buy a good pair of front speakers first (about 25-40K), then as and when you save up some more proceed to the centre, surrounds and sub woofer.

Hi friends...
checked Creative 5.1 speakers with BDP-93 ... I'm very much disappointed. The audion from Sony KDL40NX700 is much much better than the creative. I think the creative 5.1 speakers are made for creative sound cards. So I decided to go for AVR and speakers. Any body suggest me a good AVR and speakers.

@shashidurga,

IMHO you must begin by deciding the combined budget for AVR+SPKR combo. Then you can proceed to the speaker size - i.e. floor standers to bookshelf depending on the space available in the room where you will be having your set up. once this is in place start hunting for the right equipment - best part the auditions...first hand experience of how different combinations sound to your ear. Select the best movies/music that you think should be the reference for your listening interests and carry them along whenever you go for auditions.

Thanx nindo...
My budget is around 50 to 60 K. In the 1st stage I'll go for stereo speakers and a sub woofer. After a month or two, i'll add surround speakers. I came to know from midnitefreakin's audition thread that, Denon 1611 + Boston acoustic CS-2310 5.1 sounds good. Deciding an AVR & Speakers is a very difficult task  Not yet decided. How is Acoustimass 5 Series III Stereo Speaker System from Bose for music ??

I had auditioned almost all Bose speakers when I was looking to buy speakers. Bose are strictly OK for movies and if you have space constraints. For the price you pay for Bose you can get many better sounding speakers. One of my friends has the acoustimass 5 series speaker system. They sound more like 2.1 ch Creative or Mercury speakers we use for computers, only a little refined. Only good ones i found were 901 Direct /Reflect, but for >1lac rupees i wouldn't even think of them.

Well, thats my view. Yours might be different, hence I suggest you audition as many set ups as possible before you decide. There are great sounding floor standing and book shelf speakers in 20-30K range - Wharfadale, Polk, B&W. Check them out before you decide.

Hi friends ...
I've shortlisted Denon AVR 1911. Any body suggest me a good Stereo speakers and subwoofer for MUSIC. I'l add surround and center later. Any other avr or amp for music ?? Pls give your valuable suggestions. I don't know much about AVR and Amps. My immediate requirement is a good setup for MUSIC.

Thanx Kittu ...
One of Denon distributer/dealer quoted Rs. 33K for Denon AVR 1911. Is this a reasonable price ??
So my budget for F, L & sub is around 30 to 40K. And for Music. Till today I've not at all auditioned any AVR/Speaker. Pls guide me.
