I am planning to get this to watch tv wirelessly across home. I wanted to know if the HD tuner works in India. This has both an analog and digital tuner. It is based on DVB-T. Will it pickup digital signals from the cable settop box? My cable box does not have any card for authentication I guess, ideally it should work, doesnt it?

There is another product without the digital tuner and composite inputs which come for 1500 less.

Unless I get full functionality its wise to spend less and get the class product isnt it.

Most of our Indian based digital broadcasts are encrypted which can be read only by the specified/respective providers set top boxes. It cannot be decoded by other digital boxes. I think with the above boxes that you have mentioned only the Doordarshan based feed can be read which are actually free to air services/channels.

Since my cable box works even without the cable card inserted, I expected the broadcast in unencrypted. I will further look at the cable box to identify the protocol. Its an sradix box given by incable in bangalore.
