AVR for HT

I am looking for AVR for HT setup for movies comprising Energy Classic speakers and BIC F12 subwoofer.

Need advice on the AVR which can run the setup at decent sound levels with ease.

I am thinking of getting Denon 1612.

Denon 1612 will easily drive those speakers. Take audition of other AVRs like Yamaha 471 also.

I assume you have both speakers and sub procured already. Try source a Denon 1912.

I have them already. I thought of Denon 1912, yamaha 671 and Harman Kardon 3600.
If Denon 1612 or Yamaha 471 can drive these well and Airplay etc are not required, is it worth to spend extra.

How important is to have Network enabled AVR. Can we stream both video and audio also or only to stream music.

AFAIK, they do only music. Atleast the entry, mid range current gen AVRs.

MY requirement for AVR is for movies only. So should I care for Network feature

IMO, the network feature is not necessary unless you are planning to stream lot of music via DLNA from your PC and use the AVR to play. Other network features such as radio streaming from internet sources such as Pandora etc do not directly work in India anyway, besides it requires subscription.

Yamaha goes well with energy speakers, where as HK comes with some real power. What price are you quoted for both?

Finally booked Yamaha 671 as my Energy speakers can be easily driven and considering the Network option. I got this from EBAY India

Hi Guys help needed. I am playing movie files from my laptop through HDMI to 671.

I am getting sound from surrounds but its playing all the sounds instead of giving special effects.

Is it a must that the source file should be 5.1 as I am playing downloaded files.
