AVR listed in Flipkart

I have called Pioneer India customer care ( 1 800 103 5787 ). The support person told me that warranty will not be applicable to any online purchase.
Asked me to buy directly from authorized dealers listed in pioneer india website.

Good chances that the seller on Flipkart is a dealer who is registered in Pioneer's website...

I will suggest everyone to write to the customer care instead of calling. A customer care executive might end up taking in favour of one particular product or shop and even can mis-inform you intentionally to convince you to buy a specific product or buy from a certain platform.

If you send them your queries in writing, there is a least chance of misguiding you. Even if you are misguided, you can always complain at a later stage.

Is technoguru.in also not authorised to sell Yamaha? I believe they have many yamaha products.

I believe that we should get warranty if there is a valid invoice/bill. We don't need to tell yamaha that the product is purchased from snapdeal. I doubt if its mentioned on the invoice that the product is bought through snapdeal. Maybe yamaha customer care have been asked by their management to discard such queries to discourage online retail of their products, same with all companies these days :(

Recently I contacted Yamaha customer care to check about Yamaha Keyboard listed in snapdeal. The reply from customer care was "We have not authorized any online sellers for Yamaha products. So Warranty and service will not be provided". In snapdeal it is mentioned that it is covered under Yamaha India Warranty. I am confused what to believe!

So just want to clarify whether the HT Products sold through flipkart will be covered by manufacture warranty / service ?

Online selling of audio products will one day potentially have adverse effects
No dealer will want to demo or give you an audition
It's happening even now when they suspect you're there only for a price check

It's not fair to them
They stock
They have a demo piece
A room
A listening setup
Obviously their overheads are more

Ad what do people do
Take advantage of this
Go there listen
Make up their mind
And buy online

It's pathetic
Why should any dealer then stock or demo an item

B&w understood this situation long ago
Therefore now BW speakers are never allowed to be sold online
If any of their spekrs are sold online
BW does a raid
Finds out who that serial no. Was sold to
And cancels his license ,
!!!

Only discontinued models sometime are allowed to show up online

Agree to some of your pointers.. It happens...

I think it is the first time users who like to demo.. Be it first amplifier (or) speaker....

Anyone who has spent sometime around these, will be willing to take the risk for the next upgrade without listening and gathering some reviews/opinions...

Classic example is BA26 on Hifimart for 14K.. Speaker went out of stock in a weeks time...

These Hi-fi demo rooms are limited to ppl in metro cities... Thinkabt someone who lives in a location who doesn't have access to these demo rooms... All these ppl will read/gather information & then make online purchase....

So it is a Win:Win situation for both....

Well in that case
The official dealers who have the brick and mortar stores
Should only be the ones allowed to open their online cart and sell

So there's no real undercutting by only a cyber store

From the products aval in flipkart and snapdeal, looks like dealers have registered and selling them online....

Hi all
Recently while researching online purchase of AV receivers in US, i came across that Pioneer US too does not honour online purcahses from non regsitered sellers. It lists the authorised sellers on its website and some buyers on Amazon were complaining of not getting warranty.

I saw similar board of Onkyo at one of the Dealer's in Mumbai stating "No warranty on online purchased AVRs"

May be they are referring to international purchase (or) AVR's bought from online portal other than snapdeal....

If you visit Onkyo india page, Onkyo India they have mentioned Snapdeal is authorised to buy online...

They have also mentioned something stupid on website " No service / No warranty for international service".. Agreed warranty not applicable... But if the customer is willing to pay for service for AVR purchased internationally, i don't understand their statement....
