Balanced XLR cable

Going a bit OT but since we are talking of cables (sans any controversy:)) I thought this newsletter from the maverick Mark Baker of Origin Live is relevant and of interest to all of us:

Choosing Hi Fi Cables

<End of OT>

Caveat: this is from a manuacturer of (among other audio stuff like turntables, excellent tonearms, and even speakers) audio cables. So the usual caveat about taking it with appropriate quantities of salt applies.

Caveat 2: long article. Read at your leisure

Cables are sometime over hyped. No doubt. But, they do make a difference.
In my personal experience, allocating 10% of your budget to cables is really worth it. And it is not rocket science to calculate the rolloff caused by cable with the published specs. Bit of attention to capacitance does help. It is one topic which is better to learn by experience rather than review.

I got my XLR cables from mr. murthy in Bangalore, very good quality cables. You can try him for your cables, his number is available in one of the threads in the forum.

Sorry,
Thats for 100 ft of cable but check the website.

Hi,
Before posting anything, please read the entire thread carefully. Cable is already bought and it is available locally, so no need of posting international buying options.
Thanks
Dheeraj
